abertis logística has its origins in the company Dromogest, S.A., which, under the business umbrella of the
toll road
concession-holder acesa, started operations in 1993 as a service company for moving goods, people and merchandise.
acesa’s management of logistic operations started in 1997 with its operation of the zone of facilities at the CIM Vallès. In 2001, under the name of Acesa Promotora Logística S.A., the company acquired 32% of CILSA (company managing the Logistic Operations Area of Barcelona) and developed its logistic business further.
In 2002, as a result of the relationship between acesa and the company that managed the service areas of its
toll roads, Areamed 2000 was set up. At the same time, Acesa Promotora Logística became part of the Parc Logístic de la Zona Franca (Logistic Park of the Zona Franca) of Barcelona with a 50% shareholding.
This steady expansion shaped the area of logistic park management of the abertis Group. In 2003, the current name abertis logística was decided on, thanks to the merger of Acesa Infraestructuras and Áurea, Concesiones de Infraestructuras. From this merger today’s business corporation abertis was born.

2003 was also a year marked by the consolidation of two outstanding projects in Sevilla and Álava: the concessions of the ZAL at the Port of Sevilla and at Arasur. With these two operations, abertis logística consolidated its presence in Spain.
The international expansion of abertis logística started in 2006, with its agreement with the Portuguese Government to build and operate the abertis logisticspark lisboa logistic park, just 25 kilometres from the Portuguese capital. In 2007, the company’s internationalization process extended beyond Europe, with the purchase of a plot measuring over 63 hectares in Santiago de Chile, where the abertis logisticspark santiago logistic park will be developed.

In December 2007, abertis logística purchased several new logistics parks in the inner Metropolitan ring of Barcelona and Madrid, with total surface area of 400,000 square metres. The deal marks a strategic milestone for abertis logística as it enables the company to gain a foothold in the centre of the peninsula, where it can set up a reference node for the logistics park network it is creating in Spain and Portugal. The move is in line with the principle of a network of logistics parks located in the major corridors providing high capacity transport and quick access throughout the peninsula.
